"Abused and no after care!!!"

About: The James Cook University Hospital / Pain Management

Was admitted 12th April, for operation with the pain team. Was took to ward 32 after operation. I asked the nurse in charge for pain medication as the pain was really bad I could hardly catch my breath, was refused as I was not written up for any. I asked to go home same night so I could self medicate and they did discharge me instead of trying to sort it out. I had a uncomfortable weekend telephoned the number I was given if any problems I did this and went to see doctor on the Tuesday, he went for second opinion and I got a rude abusive man come and see me. He wasn't bothered the amount of pain and tiredness and discomfort I was in. They tried to take my bloods with out success so they give up trying . I have this trouble all the time this is what happens when you have been a Cancer patient but other Hospitals don't give up trying they get someone who deals with taking bloods all the time. The after care is absolutely disgusting would never of had operation if I new this department was going to leave me like this and the support is shocking. I telephoned the Chief Executive office for further help.

Several hours later I had a call from Patient advice she said well you have appointment next Tuesday, yes that's still another week away I'm in pain now and I also told her they need bloods in case I get infection in my head!!! was going round in circles absolute disgrace. Would I come back NO you have me worried sick No after care No one to turn to. I had Nerve stimulator in my head to operate pain in my head and neck after cancer left me with nerve damage.
