After a fall on the ice just before Christmas, I visited A&E at St Richards. I was seen promptly and taken down to have an X-ray taken of my arm. I had badly broken my left radius by my wrist. A very kind doctor in A&E and his colleagues tried to manipulate my arm to realign the bones.
Another X-ray revealed that this had not been successful.
I was told I was booked in for an emergency operation the following morning.
In the morning the operation procedure was explained comprehensively to me by the consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who also performed the operation.
During all of the follow up appointments and subsequent physiotherapy appointments, I have been treated really well, with procedures explained and advice given.
I cannot fault the care I have been given and would like to thank all of the staff in the orthopaedic department as well as the staff in A&E
"Great care"
