"Most overwhelming experience"

First thing that got me as soon as I walked in was the amount of ladies in the waiting room going through the same situation as me. In a weird way in comforted me a little to know I wasn't on my own and we were all scared.. same outcome different stories to tell.

For my consultation I was waiting a couple hours as it was really busy which made me more anxious. Upon going into the room the nurse told me I needed a scan and the normal check ups which I was instantly overwhelmed with what am I doing.. I lay down and requested not to look as I already felt guilt ridden. She told me I was 11 weeks and I panicked automatically. She calmed me and reasurred I was in the right hands and that I was going to be okay and gave me a tissue.

On the day of the termination, I remember I came in at 9 in the morning I was the first one in and I was out by half 10. I was having a surgical procedure. I remember being handed a cloth to put round my bottom half and some shoes and was told to wait in a little waiting room half naked so I started to work myself up and got into a state. A gentleman came and crouched down next to me and said I know you're scared but I'm going to hold your hand till you fall asleep i promise youre going to be okay. He calmed me down and walked me in

When I got into the room there was nurses and doctors everywhere the room was full and because I was half naked I felt uncomfortable. I requested to not have my legs up on the stirups till I fell asleep cause I felt uncomfortable. I had 4 or 5 people around me one holding my hand the others distracting me and talking to me. The gentleman told me to hold my left hand out stuck a needle in me and I felt a metal taste in my mouth and I was out cold.

I woke up and looked down and I had a yellow substance on my jumper I asked what happened they said when you woke up you went into shock and got sick on yourself.. (I don't remember doing this) the nurse cleaned me up and she wheeled me into a recovery room where I was offered tea and they were asking me questions about work and brothers and sisters and this made me feel so much better as I was coming round. I got a heat pack and wouldn't let me go until I felt ready.

Overall my experience was like a rollercoaster. The staff were extremely professional and friendly.

Can't thank everyone enough considering the situation.
