"Doctors communication"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

My son is seen regularly by paediatric clinicians at the Norfolk and Norwich. My main query is that various clinicians have asked me as to " what medication i think my son should be on and whether I think that my son should have certain tests or not". What I would say about this is that firstly I am a parent and not a doctor, I am not qualified to make decisions about treatment plans on behalf of ANY medical clinician. I also wonder if this is normal protocol to be asked these type.of questions by Norfolk and Norwich clinicians. Also I would like to know whether parents/carers should receive clinical letters from all clinicians after hospital appointments, and what is the hospital policy and requirement in this matter.
