"Lack of compassion."

About: Heartlands Hospital

I was sent to ward 11 by my gp to have a cyst removed. I’m writing this whilst I’m in the waiting room. I’ve currently been waiting for over 6 hours and had NO communication whatsoever from the nursing staff.

Other patients have been sent home and told to come back tomorrow after waiting for over 10 hours! The whole atmosphere is very tense as people are (understandably) upset with the service and lack of communication.

No compassion has been shown to any patients and it really does feel like a horrible place to be.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments, following your attendance to Ward 11 at Heartlands Hospital.

As a Trust, we are very sorry that there was a delay and for the lack of communication.

If you would be willing to provide further details such as your name, address, date of birth and a contact number for you, as a Trust, we would welcome the opportunity to look into this matter further.

You can do this by contacting a member of the Patient Services Team on 0121 424 0808 or you can email your concerns to bhs-tr.Complaints-ConcernsandCompliments@nhs.net who can then take the necessary action.

If you do contact our team, can I please ask you to advise the member of staff that you are responding to your NHS Choices Posting.

I will forward your posting to the Senior Management Team for Ward 11 so they are aware of your experience.

Once again, thank you for your posting as all patient feedback is important to us.

Yours sincerely

Jenny Langham

Patient Services Officer
