"Hot wax and was refused to be seen"

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Ophthalmology

Unable to be seem by my doctor as their was no emergency appointment, refused by princess Alexandra A and E , so went to the eye clinic to then be refused again !

Like I said to the receptionist I’m unsure how you can let something so important as an eye “wait “

I had hot wax in my eye , my face had minor degree burns and I still

Got refused !

Dear Anonymous,

That sounds awful and I am sorry you had that experience. Just to be clear, The Princess Alexandra Hospital Ophthalmology Team do not operate a 24 hour emergency service, this would be through our Emergency Department or A&E. Once your condition is stable, if you visit out of hours, and the concerns merits further investigation, a referral to Moorfields Emergency Department is made, which is what would have happened in this case.
