What I liked
The reception staff in the ultrasound department were helpful and polite, my appointment was on time and the Sonographer who saw me was very good. She explained everything as she went along and was a very polite and pleasant lady.
What could be improved
The parking situation is appalling. Had my husband not been with me I would have missed my appointment as there were no parking spaces at all in the pay and display area. We weren't the only people in this situation as cars were queuing back onto Waverley Road. We eventually found a space in the short stay area, but as a result, my husband missed most of my 20 week pregnancy scan because he had to move the car. The gentleman on the enquiries desk was helpful and apologetic but explained that the parking was nothing to do with the hospital but the contractors who run the car park. My husband had a word with the person in the parking kiosk to find out what he should do who told him to park in the road outside the hospital grounds, even though it is in a CPZ (but that doesn't bother him as it's not his responsibility and it's not his job to give out parking tickets outside of his car park). I don't know who your contractors are, but that was just plain rude and unhelpful. We would have used public transport but even though we live in St Albans, it would take two buses or an hour's walk to get there.
