"I never seem to get an appointment"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I've been feeling ill for the past 3-4 weeks and whenever I call Buckingham terrace medical practice I always get told that they don't have any appointments available for at least 2 weeks.

The reception staff said to call back at 8.30am to try and get a same day appointment however this approach has been useless because when I do call back the lines are always busy.

By the time I eventually get through to someone (usually after 20 mins) all the available appointments are gone!

I keep myself in regularly good health most and only ever visit the GP 2-3 times a year at best.  Whenever I do need to see someone I never seem to get an appointment or receive the medical care I think I need.

Dear Electrical Engineer

I am sorry to read about the difficulty you are having in getting an appointment with your GP.

As GP's are independent contractors, I would suggest contacting the Practice Manager at Buckingham Terrace Medical Practice to discuss the difficulties you are experiencing.

If you don’t feel comfortable contacting the Practice Manager directly, I can pass your comments on to the Practice Manager on your behalf.

Kind Regards

Nicole

Update posted by Electrical Engineer (the patient)

Firstly thanks for your swift response, it’s greatly appreciated.

In this instance I would be grateful if you could pass on this complaint on my behalf.

If I were to do it myself I feel my records maybe ear marked as “the complaining one” which may further hinder future appointments.

Thanks again
