"Reassured by compassionate care"

About: University Hospital Monklands

(as a service user),

This is a follow up to my opinion on NHS Douglas St. Hamilton which relates to the same subject.:

I have been very impressed by many treatments received on the NHS,  but it would be VERY amiss of me not to include Mr. V. Sood's maxillofacial clinic and orthodontic reception at Monklands Hospital, Coatbridge.

The word 'cancer' can give someone such a shock and instil fear in a person... not so in my own experience. Mr V Sood, in his first description of my dilemma and his explanation of treatment required, portrayed to me a self confidence and assurance of ability and expertise which instantly filled me with faith in him successfully removing the problem.

Not only that, from reception to surgery,  the staff and nurses were so compassionate and caring... treating me as if I were the only individual in their care!  I am ashamed to admit I do not know the name of the Doctor who did the procedure with Mr Sood and can only apologise for that!

The experience in the Day Surgery and the confidence gained in everyone's ability as they worked with each other so calmly,  helped me tremendously. Where  on earth would we be without all these amazing, wonderful people? My sincere grateful thanks to Doctors,  Nurses and Reception Staff.

Dear Liz B

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this positive feedback for our orthodontic, maxillofacial and day surgery teams. I am sure the teams will be hugely encouraged by this, and I am delighted that a potentially very difficult experience for you has been made better by the compassion and expertise of the clinical and administrative teams who helped with your care and treatment.

I hope you continue to make an excellent recovery and wish you the very best of health.

With all best wishes

Nichola
