"My 3 year old daughter"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a service user),

I rang the out of hours medical services in Grampian provided by GMED as my 3 year old daughters ears have flared up. (Not 1st time) she had to get an anti biotic the last time her ears flared up. They said oh it’s viral (I’m a mum of 5 kids & I know viral) she is screaming in pain despite the hot compress, calpol & ibuprofen & yet they want to leave her suffering till Monday morning. What a joke! Away to take her to a& e so they can actually LOOK in her ear! When she gets the anti biotic I shall call back to complain.

Dear Angry Mummy

It is clear from your story that you are very unhappy with the care your three year old daughter has received. I am sorry about this and I do hope your little one has been seen and received any required treatment.

Within your Care Opinion story, you have said that you rang the medical services at GMED. You may mean that you rang NHS 24 and if so, I would be pleased to hear directly from you. Some additional detail will enable us to review your call to the service to establish exactly how this was managed. I can be contacted on 0141 337 4597 or by email at patientaffairs@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

NHS 24 welcomes patient feedback, so we look forward to hearing from you.

With kind regards

Shona
