"Maternity services"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital / Maternity

Was happy enough with the ante natal clinics until the end. Had only 1 appointment within the last 6 weeks of pregnancy. Was induced after I thought waters had broken without once being examined (they hadn’t broken). Delivery suite was good and operating staff were excellent. Very poor after care back on the ward. Wound never checked, not given pain relief, told to go get my own water even though wasn’t able to get out of bed. No pain management, medication omitted. Night staff were better.

Given no help or advice with getting up or lifting baby although in severe pain post emergency section and post partum haemorrhage. Minimal help with breast feeding. Very disappointed with hospital after care. Home care was excellent though.

Thanks for taking the time to send in your comments and I’m sorry to hear about the hospital after care weren’t to the same standard as your home care. I have passed your comments to our maternity team but if you would like me to investigate this further, then please get in touch with me on WXPals@bartshealth.nhs.uk.
