I have been a patient for over 40 years and seen four doctors on a regular basis and about the same number incidentally. I have around twelve chronic conditions and have been hospitalised around ten times for periods of days to weeks in the last 20 years. Almost without exception I have received the very best treatment. I understand and respect the need to be economical with time and the benefit of telling it like it is on both sides.
Over the last few months I have succeeded (by dint of some diligence) in getting prompt appointments with my current preferred GP within days if not hours for a prostate/bladder condition despite general surgery waiting times of three weeks.
The internet system works very well and I always use it for repeat prescriptions, and often for appointments.
The surgery is suffering from a shortage of at least one GP and the general NHS underfunded load but manages the situation well with a little bit of patient assistance.
If you live in the area this is the practice to use.
