"Mrs J"

About: Torbay Hospital / Paediatrics

My primary school aged child has been complaining of night sweats (very visible) shortness of breath and chest pains and abdominal pains.

This has been going in since my child contracted pneumonia nearly 12 months ago, through a teachers negligence on a school trip. Our family G. P is excellent, he arranged a referral to see a pediatric consultant. The consultant was friendly towards myself and my child but did not do any tests other than examine my child's abdomen which had already been done by our G. P.

When i received a copy detailing the appointment half of the report was of personal irrelevant information (nothing at all to do with his symptoms) most of the information was incorrect and other parts of the report were already on file with our G. P.

This is not the first time as a family we have had problems with how reports are documented.

No inhalation tests were carried. No blood tests and no diabetes tests were carried out. My child is still having problems but the consultant has decided by asking personal information about what school is attended, who lives in the family home and what pets we have.... amongst other personal questions, that my child is ok??

My child is attending a school sports holiday soon and i need to know all is well enough to attend?

If this is not rectified soon

I will be taking it further and will also be refusing any future appointments within this hospital
