"Coping with mu wife Cancer"

About: Kennedy Way Surgery

Due to ankle ulcer dressings clinic with the Nurse, I have from the prognoses of Pams advanced Renal Cancer, been able to have someone to talk to about the issues from a carers position.

The Nurse has been sympathetic & listened to my frustration, her calm voice has made me feel better to the situation I am in.

I have visited dark places & this nurse has understood allowing me to walk way from it, for now

I have accepted a counselling appointment with a Support Patient adviser after talking to her.

The doctor has been professional to Pam & me regarding the Cancer, prescribing the drugs identified my St Peters Clinic Nurses with understanding.

Recently Pam got confused about a drug she was to take, although under pressure to attend a meeting locally, the doctor visited us to advise calmly to Pam the drug was necessary for her condition.

The receptionists at the Surgery have helped too.

A prescription had been written in the early days of this disease, but had not been sent to the Pharmacy, the duty receptionist was instrumental in me returning home with the drug settling Pams anxiety.

Thank you Kennedy Surgery.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on what must be such a difficult time for you both.

Knowing that the small things we did, really made a difference, reminds us that every working day is worthwhile.

We wish you and Pam all the best in her ongoing treatment and will be there offering our support along the way.

Dr Catherine Buckley
