In the last two weeks I have had two reasons to visit A&E at the QEQM.
In both cases, despite the department being crazily busy, I felt I have received very kind, compassionate and professional treatment.
The first occasion was for myself - I arrived at 7am in the morning in excruciating pain and was very quickly assessed and given pain relief. I was in the department most of the day until I could be moved to the appropriate East Kent Ward - but was well looked after.
My second experience was with my young toddler - the minute we arrived in the waiting area a nurse took him immediately to the Paediatric area with his mother, whilst I registered our presence - he was quickly assessed and then treated by a very kind and patient doctor, who communicated so well with my son helping him cope with a very scary experience. Despite the enormous pressures on the A&E staff, I don't feel I could have asked for better care.
"Well looked after with two visits to A&E"
