"Endoscopy procedure"

I was apprehensive when I knew I had to go into hospital for gastroscopy but knew I would be in safe hands with experienced staff. On the day, every staff member introduced themselves and acted in a professional manner. I felt relaxed and was given sedation for the procedure as part of my wish and grateful staff recognized patient choice.

After the procedure, I was looked after well and staff were attentive to my needs. Ensuring I had something to eat and drink before leaving hospital. It was also good to get results after the procedure as it gave me peace of mind.

As a nurse myself I know the pressures that NHS staff have on them, I was very impressed by the endoscopy department and would like to thank the staff who do an amazing job. I am so glad I went for the procedure as it has helped me with my diagnosis and to get the right treatment.
