I was asked to attend my GP for an ECG due to medication I am taking. The following day the practice contacted me to say that the GP wanted to see me. I attended the same day and was told that the ECG was fine in relation to my medication however, it appeared that there were some "changes" on the ECG that were consistent with a previous heart attack.
My GP referred me on to the cardiology department for an outpatient appointment. Whilst I was quite reassured that this was not a dire emergency as I have not had any symptoms to mention I am sure you can appreciate this is quite alarming. I have not been given an appointment to date and have contacted the appointments office to be told there is a 20 week wait for an appointment. When my wife contacted the appointments office she was told I had been given wrong information and that in fact the wait was 9 weeks. Can somebody please clarify?
