"Still waiting for biopsy results"

About: City Hospital / Dermatology

I was told in January that I probably had a malignant spot on my arm and it was removed rapidly, in February. I was then told that I would have the results of the biopsy in 4 weeks. It is now nearly two months since the surgery and I still have not received the results. I rang last week and was told I would get a letter this week. Not having received the letter, I rang again and there was no record of that call! Certainly no letter had been sent because apparently it was never written and the doctor is on holiday. Now I am waiting for a junior doctor to write and send a report. The suspense is agony.

That is truly dreadful and unacceptable.

Your post has been shared with the Deputy General Manager Rachel Clark who would like to look into this and get back to you with an appointment and some much needed clarity. Would you please get in touch her via rachel.clark10@nhs.net so that she can respond to you directly. Thank you, Toby Lewis, Chief Executive.
