"Lack of treatment for my psoriasis"

About: United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust

After seeing a dermatologist privately in October 2017 I was diagnosed with psoriasis.

The doctor at Lincoln referred me to the pilgrim for methotrexate. I received and attended an appointment with a doctor bell on 10/1/2018.

We discussed the methotrexate and also phototherapy but I was informed at that time that the waiting list for this was 6/9 weeks. As most days my feet and hands are bleeding I thought this was too long to wait so opted for the methotrexate as advised by the doctor.

I was sent for a chest X-ray and had bloods taken. I then received an appointment to see the sister on the 30/1/2018 for what I presumed was the start of methotrexate. She asked me why I did not want phototherapy and I said I did not feel I could wait the time.

She left the room and came back and said she was looking to get me in for it asap and prescribed some enstilar and cetraben in the mean time.

I waited but no appointment for phototherapy.

Instead I received an appointment to see the sister on the 18/4/2018 for what I presumed would be the start of phototherapy only to have to cancel the appointment as I am on holiday.new appointment arranged for the 2/5/2018.

But it's not for phototherapy it's to review the medication the sister has put me on.

I have spoken to the sister and pals with regards to this matter and it's all down to a shortage of staff which I find astonishing.i have written to my doctors surgery and they in turn have written to the hospital saying I have changed my mind and now want the methotrexate. This is not what I want but as I understand the waiting list is 23 weeks for phototherapy and I have not even been put on the list .

Thanks for listening
