"doing there best"

About: Lynfield Mount Hospital

Staff struggled to manage a few aggressive patients which meant they had little time to spend with the quieter ones like myself.

Ward was often understaffed but they staff on duty did what they could.

The smoking ban has caused massive problems as there are not enough staff to keep escorting people outside all the time.

I was happy with my treatment and care.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. Since your time on the ward across our Acute Care Services we have worked hard to improve our recruitment & retention rates, ensuring we have more substantive staff on our wards who are able to be responsive to each individuals’ care needs. The Organisation also recognises the challenges associated with the ‘Smoke Free Policy’ and our Executive Management Team and Trust Board are currently reviewing this policy, visiting other Organisations and listening to feedback to look at what changes may need to be implemented to make this more manageable and acceptable for all concerned. If you would like to talk to someone about your care in more detail, please contact a member of staff involved in your care if you feel comfortable in doing so or you can also contact our Patient Advice & Complaints Department on 01274 251440 or e-mail: advice.complaints@bdct.nhs.uk
