"My treatment could have been longer"

About: Phoenix Futures / Trafford drug and alcohol services

(as a service user),

I loved going to Phoenix futures in Trafford, it gave me hope, but due what i belive is council cutbacks I can no longer attend.

After being told this I stupidly went on a bender and ended taking an overdose of my depression tablets and ended up in hospital. I am now under the care of the crisis team at Trafford General.

My treatment could of been longer I feel like I have been left to cope on my own.

I am deeply sorry to hear this unfortunate news, I would be quite interested in hearing of how you were informed about Council cutbacks and how this supposedly affected your treatment with us.

I can 100% assure you that we have not been affected by Council cutbacks with regards to the provision of treatment we provide. However, we do have to work within set guidlines and perimeters to how long someone can be in treatment. We do work with a persons individual need on a regular basis and if it is felt that a person requires addtional support or further time in treatment then a package would be out in place.

If you are currently seeking support from the Crisis Team or other external agencies please get them to make another referral and contact us or additional please feel free to contact the service yourself.

Best wishes

Sara
