"My whole experience has been first class"

After a few years of monitoring and biopsies, done by the wonderful nurse led Hysteroscopy Dept, Michelle and her excellent team, they had to escalate my last result for referral to a Consultant for potential surgery.

I am now several weeks post op after a Hysterectomy, done by the wonderful Dr Konamme, who has been both an excellent Surgeon and a perfect gentleman. From the initial consultation with my Husband and myself, he explained in great detail, the procedure, recovery and all implications, with total honesty and immense patience. He was just a lovely man who had the time for myself and my Husband.

His warmth and interest, in the broader picture of my health and family circumstances, were no doubt part of his diagnosis and insight into appropriate convalescing for me. Dr Konamme made us feel as if we were his only patients and he was just wonderful. This has always been the case with the whole Department and it is very reassuring to know their policy is always to be totally frank and honest.

I can honestly say that my whole experience with the Gynaecology Department at Crosshouse Hospital has been excellent and no private care could ever have exceeded this.

From admittance to the Day Surgery, all Nursing Staff were so kind, compassionate, courteous and caring, and their professionalism was overwhelming.

Dr Neil, the Anaesthetist, was very patient with me and listened to my concerns. Again, he was just wonderful, as were the Nurses and Doctors in the recovery ward.

I had a beautiful, spotlessly clean, tranquil room with a wet room, and for me, the perfect solace to recover from my operation. The whole team in this ward were just wonderful and could never do enough for me, ( day and night ) and often had a little chat and a laugh while going about their very busy, daily tasks.

This was a lovely ward, and had the highest standard of care and cleanliness, which was so very apparent. The food was also superb and the menu offered multiple choices.

I have to say my whole experience has been first class, and I am indeed honoured to have had the care I have had from the most wonderful medical staff in this Department of Crosshouse Hospital.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the lovely cancer Nurses, Gillian and Rhona, who are very much part of this wonderful team. Thank you Michelle for all your magnificent care. Their understanding, support and dedication is tireless. They are very special Nurses.

NHS/Crosshouse Hospital are very fortunate to have such a special, well run Department, staffed with the highest calibre of professionals, as are the patients who require treatment.
