"Pain management is patchy at best ,..."

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

What I liked

Day surgery procedure waiting time was fairly good , I did not have to wait around for long

What could be improved

There should be full and frank conversation with consultants before procedure

Anything else?

I was disgusted at the power of the pain management nurses after procedures , they do not ask the proper questions on follow up ,and because of this they are way to quick to sign you of there books , and chuck you into community pain management , where your just filled up with drugs, and partake in what I can only describe as hippy rubbish.

Follow on treatment at beast is patchy , always waited longer that 6-10 weeks for my next appointment , which meant that any benefit I got from surgery was was wiped out by the wait , so it had to start again from scratch , if your working on a pain chart from 0-10 , and you are say at 7-8 , if you only drop by one or two , the treatment is deemed as does not work for you , so you are thrown out ,these decisions can only be taken by people that are not in pain , other wise they would understand that even a drop of 1 , is grasped with both hands
