What I liked
In these days of the moan and complain culture I would like to offer a postive view for all the staff at Darrant Valley Hospital. My wife visited her GP early Tuesday morning 19th and as a result of the diagnosis was asked to attend with a letter to A & E. We went to Darrant Valley hospital which is our local A & E and into the walk in part was seen quickly and transfered to A & E itself which although in temporay accomodation functioned well. Staff were helpful, caring and professional even down to the cleaners and ladies making tea etc. The diagnos was a suspected blood clot (DVT or PE) and bloods and stats pointed to this. My wife was sent for XRay which by that time A & E was full and she was admitted to the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU). Again staff were kind, considerate and went about thier duties in a proffessional manner. My wife stayed over night for a scan the following day and everything was clearly explained by doctors and consultants. The ward was very clean and even the hosptial food was a good standard (I tasted some). The staff in the ward were excellent and the treatment they gave for the condition seemed to work quite quickly. As it turns out the scans and xray showed no blood clots which I was so relieved about and another explanation was offered as to my wifes condition which could be treated at home and she was therefore discharged. So a Big Thankyou to everyone in both A & E and the CDU.
"Excellent Care and treatment both in A &..."
