"A very impressive service in plastics and hand..."

Having done damage to my hand in a cycling accident, I couldn't have been more impressed by the quality of service I received at the Royal free, having been sent there by another hospital's A&E.

I was seen promptly with scarcely any wait by a multi-disciplinary team, all of whom contributed to the assessment process, drawing upon their different experience and views.

They came together to a treatment plan, which included expert cleaning and dressing of my wound, antibiotics, and an immediate referral for hand therapy, where I received excellent advice about how to keep my hand active during the healing process.

When I returned for follow-up with concerns about my other hand, the team once more fitted me in to conduct an assessment including x-rays, setting my mind at rest, and once more sent me off to the hand therapy team for advice about protecting and exercising this hand.

Who could ask for more!
