"A&E Excellent Experience"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I attended with a badly swollen ankle.  My GP had suggested I have it x-rayed to ensure it wasn’t broken.

We arrived at A&E at around 12.55 Sat afternoon and left the hospital at around 14.10.  That included being assessed, x-rayed and being given advice on healing!!

Thankfully my ankle wasn’t broken.

The Emergency Nurse Practitioner who attended to me was JUST LOVELY.  Her name was Wendy, unfortunately I didn’t catch her surname but I want her to get due recognition for the fantastic service she provided.

For all the media criticism of NHS Scotland, my experience was totally spot on!  This was helped of course by Wendy but also the short waiting/Assessment time greatly exceeded my expectations.  Don’t believe all you hear/read from the media!

Dear Mrs LB,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your recent visit to the Emergency Department. I hope your ankle is improving.

I am pleased you were able to be assessed and treated in under an hour and a half on a Saturday afternoon! I am sure Wendy will be delighted to read your feedback and I will ensure it is sent to her personally. I will also pass on your comments to the whole Emergency Department Team as it is always nice to hear of a job well done and can really help boost staff morale.

Claire
