"Always a smile, laughter and relaxed atmosphere"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Critical Care

(as a carer),

My partner had to have a triple bypass recently and stayed 6 days in CITU. Julie's team were phenomenal in the care they gave him and the support they gave me. They were attentive, loving and made me feel a valued partner in his care too. They were efficient, well organised, knowledgeable and each one having strong expertise throughout.   It was a scary time for both of us but it did feel so much easier because of the teams approach. Also I felt that some of the burden had been lifted from me too for which I was grateful. Always a smile, laughter and relaxed atmosphere as well as maintaining professionalism at all times. Outstanding care - outstanding team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️ you've made it possible to take a daddy home to his children with the prospect of long happy healthy life ahead of us. ❤️❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dear Kc20

Many, many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback about care in CITU on Care Opinion. Your comments help us all understand what matters to patients and families. The team will be absolutely delighted to hear themselves described as “phenomenal” and it is very touching that you also felt their love. We know how important it is to involve families in care and care decisions and it is clear from your story that you felt this too. For the staff to be happy and smiling and for them to be able to create a relaxed atmosphere in such a technical care environment is a great accolade.

It must be such a relief to have your partner home again. We send our very best wishes to him and to your whole family. Thank you again for sharing your experience. Your words are heartfelt and will be much appreciated by the team in CITU.

Kindest regards,

Update posted by Kc20 (a carer)

Hi Linda

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I did try to contact you via the details printed in the questionnaires in the department but all details there are out of date. Phone number not recognised and email bounced back. So really glad I finally managed to reach you.

Hi Kc20

This is very helpful for me. Thank you. I am off to the department to find out why they have out of date information. We will fix this directly. Another example of how beneficial Care Opinion is.

Best wishes,
