Visiting times on different wards

(as a relative),

We went to visit my mother in Hairmyers. When we arrived she had been moved to another ward without telling us. She had not been warned so was unable to tell us. We were told that the Ward (1) had different visiting hours and were asked to leave. I have since checked the nhs website and can find no information about visiting hours for Ward 1. The nhs website gives appearance that there are no restrictions and it is open visiting (as per other wards). 

Can I I suggest the following improvements:
1. Advise patients in advance that they are going to be moved wards so that they can advise their families
2. Publish information on the nhs website as to the visiting hours for each ward.

I'm so sorry you had a poor experience which has been added to by what appears to be a lack of communication/information from us.

We have been working over the past year to extend visiting times, as we truly believe seeing friends and family is of enormous benefit to our patients. We are a 'John's Campaign' friendly hospital, and are progressing to universally open visiting times across the hospital.

We are currently reviewing the information published on the NHS Lanarkshire website with the Communications team for all NHS Lanarkshire hospitals.

I have spoken with the ward staff today to ensure the correct message and times are provided, I would be happy to discuss further with you and I am available on 01355 584664 if required

Again, I'm very sorry you had such a poor experience.
