On 14 Feb 2018 my GP called me and asked me to visit him that day.
He was concerned that a PSA revealed a very high score indicating presence of Prostate cancer and high likelihood that it has spread.
It is now over eight weeks since that original PSA and I do not yet have a diagnosis.
I have had four tests/scans so far and today, following a phone call to the Consultant's Secretary, learned that I need a further CT scan.
My observations to date are;
Initial consultation was very poor with very little information provided by the Consultant
Bone Scan requested by Consultant was not booked in by the Dept at DCH, in fact no action was taken by this department until a friend (internal member of staff) took action on my behalf, subsequently booked at another hospital.
Biopsy carried out at DCH however, after two weeks no follow-up information.
On phoning the Consultant's Secretary I have been told to expect another test (CT Scan).
Overall I would rate performance 'extremely poor', having been told that my PSA is very high I don't know whether I should be concerned or not!
