My sister was admitted to Coronary Care Ward just before Christmas 2017. She had had a heart attack. The family thought it was a mild attack but after various tests we were told that it was in fact very serious and she was extremely unwell. Unfortunately my sister did not recover but I wanted to record my gratitude (belatedly) to ALL of the staff on this ward for the wonderful care given. From the nurses -particularly a young nurse Stuart - to the consultant, who was so kind and caring when telling myself and my sister's children that it was possible/probable that she would not recover. This must be an extremely difficult thing to do but was done with such kindness. One of the nurses noticed that my sister was wearing religious medals around her neck and asked me if she would like a priest to be called. This was so thoughtful of her. Very important to the family. (A priest arrived half an hour later) Thank you all so much for the wonderful - and possibly often unappreciated - work that you do.
