"Care of my sister"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Cardiology (Heart Conditions) Wards 6c & 6d

(as a relative),

My sister was admitted to Coronary Care Ward just before Christmas 2017. She had had a heart attack.   The family thought it was a mild attack but after various tests we were told that it was in fact very serious and she was extremely unwell.   Unfortunately my sister did not recover but I wanted to record my gratitude  (belatedly) to ALL of the staff on this ward for the wonderful care given. From the nurses -particularly a young nurse Stuart -  to the consultant,   who was so kind and caring when telling myself and my sister's children that it was possible/probable that she would not recover. This must be an extremely difficult thing to do but was done with such kindness. One of the nurses noticed that my sister was wearing religious medals around her neck and asked me if she would like a priest to be called. This was so thoughtful of her. Very important to the family. (A priest arrived half an hour later)    Thank you all so much for the wonderful - and possibly often unappreciated - work that you do.

Dear Sisteract

I am very sorry for the loss of your Sister and I would like to pass on my condolences to you and your family.

I would like to thank you for getting in touch to tell us about the care your Sister and the family received in the Coronary Care Ward. I am sure that the staff in the Coronary Care Ward will appreciate your thanks and your kind words.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

Nicole
