Having been with my husband through his journey of care within the Forth Valley Royal Larbert, Cardiology Department, I was more than surprised to find myself in the very same Department this busy Easter weekend.
I had more than a fairly good idea of how the department worked (especially as my husband is living a good healthy life after two heart attacks and a heart bypass) but to find myself unexpectedly undergoing the same tests and treadmill experience is quite surreal. I found the staff to be dedicated, professional and extremely caring, especially as I was on my own during this visit.
Although I had supported my husband on his visits to the Cardiology Department at Forth Valley Royal I had not realised how supportive and kind the staff were on a one to one basis. This of course can only be experienced when "it's your turn."
Well, for now, I've had "my turn" and thanks to the professional help and care given in the Cardiology Department I'll survive another day. If "my turn"comes round again I'll know I'm in excellent hands.
