"Attended A&E Sat 31/3/18 at 6.45pm- 9.30pm"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Accident and emergency

After using the 111 service at approximately 12.30pm my condition deteriorated and I attended A&E at 6.45pm.It was busy but i was dealt with courteously and efficiently.

All relevant procedures including blood tests were completed and I was allowed home at 9.30pm.i believe that to be first class service under trying conditions.

The only concern myself and other patients in my vicinity had was the totally unacceptable behaviour of an unseen patient who was using loud, foul and aggressive language, presumably to staff.

No one should have to work under those conditions,I hope the culprit was dealt with accordingly.

Thank you for expressing concern with the abusive behaviour you witnessed being directed at staff and for teling us of your otherwise satisfaction with the service you received. The Trust has robust policies in place and and does not accept any form of abuse of staff.

The behaviour you witnessed will have been registered as an incident to take forward should the patient behave in this way at a future date. If neccessary our security team would stay with the patient.

Recurring behaviour is monitoted and followed up with the person concerned.
