"Emergency care ward"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I have been sent to emergency care ward after visiting gp at ooh. I am glad that all the tests came back ok and I was able to go home.

Unfortunately there was a doctor who's name I don't even know who was the last one to see me to say that's there's nothing wrong. The doctor's attitude and talking was giving me impression of I am at it. I was there because for last 8 weeks I had lot of cough with couple infections and my chest pain wasn't getting any better and painkillers I got prescribed by gp aren't touching the pain at all. The doctor's attitude and 3 times repeating that there is no fix and they can't do anything even discouraged me for asking if there is a way getting stronger painkillers. With pain describing 9-10/10 and 3-4/4 I feel the dr's attitude could be a bit more humane.

The doctor who seen me on admission was very pleasant and all the staff was nice too although one didn't have best day she still acted positive and good.

I understand the pressure the staff can get under and I admire them. But the feeling after seeing the doctor left me feel like they thinks I'm at it and nothing is wrong. I am glad all tests came back good but the pain is still very unbearable.

Even that I want to say thank you for all the care and hard work you do.

Dear Zuzacek,

I am sorry that you became unwell and had to attend the Emergency Care Unit.

I am sorry and concerned that your overall experience was less than desirable and I think it would be helpful to further investigate this further in order to give you a targeted response.

I would be grateful if you could contact Yvonne Ross, Patient Affairs Manager on 01698366558 or email yvonne.ross@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk.

I hope that your pain has settled and you are feeling better.

Best Wishes

Andy
