"Ward 1 team"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Day Case Unit

(as a service user),

I would  like to leave a note of appreciation for the staff who cared for me on ward 1 during a day case procedure. I was treated with such dignity compassion and respect I was inclined to put a little positive feedback.

The whole team worked seamlessly from admission to discharge. Dr maclean was professional and provided truly patient centred care,  I felt he took My needs and views on board. Broden the anaesthetist and his team were competent and caring in theatre and recovery. Ward 1 staff.. Huge thank you to velma the hca for her smile and tea and toast.. Mariann and Sarah the nurses were amazing. I think their professional management of my case was exceptional. I really felt I was in capable hands. My needs of analgesia were well managed and right down to supporting me to mobilise as able. Very gentle caring compassionate nurses. Thank you for making an anxious patient feel at ease. I believe the staff in Dr Grays go above and beyond the call of duty, working in  great partnership as a multi disciplinary team. Dr Grays Hospital  is a vital service in Moray community. It as has a unique team working ethos which enhances patient experience and far exceeds care received in the NHS  Trust elsewhere. We need to celebrate a service so special and its dedicated staff.

One small recommendation.. Improved signage of location for ward 1 would be helpful as misleading currently its a little misleading,  its slightly separate to main pink zone..

Dear Mums matter

Firstly I must sincerely apologise for the delay in replying to your lovely note of appreciation about the care you received on Ward 1, I feel very embarrassed having not replied before now.

I trust that you are feeling much better now that you are home

Many thanks for taking the time to give positive feedback it was very satisfying to read about the Patient Centred Care you received from the team, they really are a special team of nurses. I will make sure that SCN of the ward receives a copy of your story to share with her team particularly the nurses you identify, Mariann, Sarah, Velma and of course Dr MacLean.

We certainly are very proud of our hospital in Elgin and the dedicated staff who give excellent care to our patients, we are indeed very lucky in Moray.

I will also discuss your comments about signage with the hospital team to see what changes can be made to reduce confusion in the future.

I would like to apologies once again for the lateness of my reply and thank you for sending such a positive feedback story.

Take care.

Kindest Regards

Diane
