The new surgery was supposed to make the service better for patients, I’m afraid I have to disagree with this. I have a fortijuce drink on my repeat prescription. This was changed without my knowledge. I could not tolerate this new drink I was given. I tried three days to get the prescription changed. The practice pharmacist phoned me on Tuesday at 7.40, the receptionist at Mexborough told me to wait until 4.30 to get it signed by a doctor, as I had no drinks left and I rely on them, my friend went to Denaby surgery on Wednesday morning and was told it was already signed, so that means Mexborough lied to me which was very upsetting for me as I suffer fron anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia. She was told to pick them up at 4.30, when she went to the chemist they had not got them. I had to wait until the next day at 12.30 before she got them for me. My partner had to buy me some from Conisbrough as I had none left and I cannot eat as I have no appetite. I had 1 slice of toast in 2 days. When you phone Mexborough they say they will contact your surgery, but do not let you know what the outcome of the phone call is. Old people and children are going to suffer with this new scheme. I think it is health and safety reasons that you cannot order a prescription at the surgery. People have done this for as long as I can remember and I am 71. Why change what works. I do not even know who my Gp is now. And you cannot get a call back from them.
