"Rejected by phone and not even seen by havering..."

About: North East London NHS Foundation Trust

My son is 15 and referred to Havering CAHMS by school. Had a phone call from CAHMS basically stating that because my son had Autistic Traits, ADD, Dyspraxia and learning difficulties this was part and parcel of his diagnosis and basically he will have to learn to live with and so do we.

Firstly my son is a 15 year old boy who is no different to any other 15 year old in most ways but he has added difficulties.

The added difficulties are that he has panic attacks when he is out and states that he can't breath, he feels dizzy and then the anxiety of this makes him tired and his skin hurts this is anxiety and pannick attacks and he doesn't understand what they are.

He needs help Toto enable him to realise that this is a feeling in his head that causes him to feel ill.

He misses school as well due to this.

Also told by lady on the phone should he be in mainstream.school.

Yes he should he isn't that bad but his mental health is hindering him socially.

How can a phone call determine the help my son needs.

Disgusted and will take this further.

Your staff need training in learning difficulties and how children with learning difficulties are more likely to need your service due to social anxiety and OCD.
