About: Lister Hospital

What I liked

All the Midwives and Consultants that I came across were fabulous, always very caring and very nice.

I'm almost 39 weeks pregnant and since 32 weeks I was found to have low levels of fluid around the baby. Since then, I've been in the hospital at least every other day for monitoring and have seen consultants every friday.

It's always a pleasure to go in there, because they all treat you so well that you actually feel at home

I highly recommend the maternity unit at Lister. I'm sure the midwives will do their best to help everyone as they do for me.

What could be improved

Sometimes the waiting time to se the consultants on a friday are a bit long. But it's totally understandable when you just have one consultant to see all the patients. Maybe if they have more consultants available the waiting time would be shorter.

Many thanks for your feedback and we hope that your pregnancy not only continues to be so well supported, but that everything goes well with the birth of your baby. On the consultant front, come the end of October 2011 our inpatient maternity service at the QEII comes up to the Lister to create the new model of care that starts from that time. One of the benefits of that very important change, which will provide mothers with far more choice about how and where they have their babies, is that more of our consultants will be spending time at the Lister, which should ease the pressure on their availability in future.
