"A Breath of Fresh Air"

About: Royal Preston Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

I attended the ENT department after having continuous problems with my nose and sinuses. I had previously visited Blackpool ENT department a few years ago. Blackpool had recommended an operation and told me I had polyps. I had not liked the consultant and felt excluded from any decisions so did not go ahead with the operation. Fast forward two years and the symptoms had become unbearable. I was given an allergy skin prick test to start with followed by a thorough examination using a wire that went up the nose and down a bit , if that makes sense?! That's the first time I had had this thorough an examination. They discovered I did NOT need an operation and had a lot of allergies. Also i don't have polyps! The examination was great, the consultant and nurses were inclusive and informative. Great experience.
