"Absolutely dreadful!"

About: The Great Western Hospital

Was rushed into hospital by ambulance on Thursday. Paramedics thought my appendix had burst. A&e was cramped and the staff were really stretched. After 6 hours I was moved to SAU and sat there for a further 3 hours whilst waiting for a bed. I saw 8 different doctors between Thursday and sat morning who dismissed my appendix and said it was my ovaries. Gynea doc said ultrasound was fine and it wasn't my ovaries as nothing points to that. I kept telling them i thought it was my gallbladder. They decided to do a lap sat lunch time and removed my appendix even though the same surgeon had said 3 times that it was in no way my appendix. An hour after surgery the doctor told the nurse to discharge me which she refused to do as my blood pressure was really low. The pain I came in with is still here and 1000times worse. Doc on Sunday said he would arrange an ultrasound for Monday, this hasn't been done. I'm taking morphine for the pain and another doc just tried to tell me the pain is all in my head cos they've removed my appendix so should have no more pain I asked why my appendix when that wasn't the problem and she said "to keep you happy"!! I've got 4 kids and the last thing I wanted was surgery!! I've got a high temp, low blood pressure, crippling pain and keep going dizzy! Finding the cause of the pain would keep me happy!!. They are now discharging me with no further checks. 6 months I've been back and forth with this pain and every time I am made to feel like I'm in the wrong for being here! So I've had surgery I didn't need, awful pain and still no answer. The nurses have been brilliant but the surgeons and the doctors attitudes towards patients is beyond disgusting. No doubt they will get funny with me again when I'm brought back in. All faith has now been lost in this hospital now.
