We were referred to More Than Words by Speech and Language as we are waiting on an autism diagnosis for our daughter who is non verbal at 3 years old.
We found the 8 classes and 3 home visits were helpful in providing us with skills and strategies that we can use to help our daughter, eg she now has several non verbal prompts that we developed based on exercises in class.
Additionally, the interaction with other parents who are in similar situations was helpful as we were able to share experiences and implement strategies that they had successfully used. The course leader Anne created an environment where we were free to discuss and ask questions based on source material and again this was beneficial as we all have kids at different ages/stages.
Overall, this was a worthwhile experience and we would recommend it to anyone.
