I came for a cystoscopy on Friday 16 March 2018. Following the same procedure years ago, when I was a child, and having suffered excrutiating pain, I was extremely anxious and dreading having to have it done again.
On arrival I was seen promptly. Then I was taken to a cubicle to get changed into a gown and then led into the room where I was to be examined. The doctor and nurse were so kind and listened to me as I explained my fears. The procedure was not rushed in any way, they talked to me throughout and explained what was being shown on the screen beside me.
It was pain free and although a bit embrassing (for me at least) I was genuinely touched by the care given.
The doctor did not find a cause for my pain in my bladder and recommended a pevic MRI and urodynamic tests. He told me that he would organise the MRI and before I left the department, he told me that this was already being arranged.
I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff in the department for making me feel at ease and for their friendliness. This was one of my better experiences at Treliske, hence this feedback.
