"My partners memory problems"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as a relative),

We both went to the Doctors (Orchard Medical Centre)  in October 2017 to discuss my Partners memory worries.

We were told that a blood test would be done and a referal sent to the Memory Clinic.

Months have gone by and we have heard nothing, my Partner phoned to be told she would have to make an appointment to see the doctor again.

I , not being happy about this, phoned and eventually got the member of staff to admit that the referral was never made and that we would have to get another blood test done to start the procedure from the beginning again.

Never was the word sorry or apologise used, we are both over 70 and feel that nobody really cares about us older ones, after all we are on the way out and why waste money on us.

I am not going to let this go until we get an appointment with the Memory clinic.

Update posted by Erch (a relative)

Visit with Nurse from the Memory Clinic went well.

Many Thanks for the speedy response and valuable assistance. This would have taken weeks to sort out if you had not been involved.

Also got a letter from Surgery apologising for the missed referal and advising a new administration procedure has been put in place.

Thanks Again - Erch
