"No surgeon for operation, what a joke."

About: North Middlesex Hospital

What could be improved

I had been waiting for my surgery for 6 months and prepared everything for it (days off/my partner's days off etc), and on the day of my operation, having through everything with a nurse and anaesthetitian and got changed my cloths to operation ones, then suddenly I was told that my operation was cancelled!!!

The director of the day surgery came and told me the surgeon is not arriving here.

..What a joke!

Although I asked where he was then, the director kept saying 'I don't know.'

Was the surgeon on accident?disappear?strike??something emergency?? I need to hear the proper explanation to understand!!!

The director was saying 'I'll find the nearest date for your operation' and gone somewhere, never came back.

I've never heard this kind of silly stories, ever! What kind of staff management are they doing?

Nurses also don't know about this(or they knew but didn't tell???), reception doesn't know, no communication within a team, no communication to the patient. All they respond is just ''I'm sorry '' or ''It's not my fault and please don't put it on me''.

Nurse said she will call somebody who can explain this to me/my husband and other patients who were also cancelled theri operation, and we were waiting and waiting and no one came to explain after all. I had to go back to admission office to re-book by myself.

Absolutely horrible.

Now I need to retain my gallstones and bear with this for another 3weeks but no guarantee that I can have this operation.

Better avoid this hospital.Really.
