"Husband food stuck in throat"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

My Husband had food stuck in his throat so we went to A& E Department the staff at the reception were very Helpful and we were taken through quite quickly. The nurse could not believe that we waited 24hrs before going to A& E to get treated but we wanted to try everything our selves as we no it is a very busy department we would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff that helped my Husband and also to ENT ward for all there help also many thanks.

Dear Oncology sue

Many thanks for sharing your experience and for your kind words of thanks for the A&E and ENT staff. I will share this with the teams directly.

I am also glad to hear that your husband was attended to quickly by the reception staff. Despite being a busy department as you have alluded to, we aim to provide timely care to all who attend.

Hoping your husband is feeling better given that having food stuck in his throat must have been very worrying and uncomfortable.

With best wishes

Fiona Robertson Chief Nurse
