"Staff were absolutely fantastic!"

About: Derriford Hospital

I visited the Freedom Unit to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed. The staff were all fantastic from start to finish. From the initial process of confirming my details and taking blood pressure to chats with both the anaesthetist and surgeon, I was made to feel at ease. I’m not the biggest fan of needles or hospitals in general but this was taken into account. I’d even be happy to have the general anaesthetic again after less than pleasant experiences in the past! When I woke up I was given pain relief in a liquid form as I’m not the best at taking tablets. It was a very long day - we arrived at 7.30am and didn’t leave until 5.30pm but the staff did their best to keep us informed and comfortable. A big thank you to all the staff at the Freedom Unit. Keep up the good work!

This is wonderful feedback for the Freedom Unit staff and as Matron am always pleased to share with the multidisciplinary team well deserved praise of the care and service provided to patients visiting the unit.
