"Really caring and professional staff in..."

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

What I liked

I attended A & E on June 17th with sudden onset dizziness, breathlessness and chest pain. From the minute I arrived, in a fairly distressed state, all the medical and nursing staff who treated and diagnosed me were really professional: supportive, caring, and knowledgeable. As an ex nurse myself I am so happy to be able to report that the highest standards of medical and nursing practice are alive and thriving in Winchester (like me – thanks to you all!). A Consultant and Cardiology Registrar were called and attended me promptly in ‘resus’. I was diagnosed with an abnormal heart rhythm. Nursed by three really professional cand caring nurses treated and stabilised by the same (brilliant) cardiac doctor. Then admitted to the Emergency Admissions Unit and the excellent nursing and medical care that I had received continued, through the night, and during the following day until I was able to go home.

What could be improved

The food could have been a bit more nutritious - there were lots of carbs but little fibre, vitamins or minerals in the choices I was offered.

Anything else?

Thank you! I am so grateful to you all.
