Having been pushed from pillar to post and totally disillusioned with the NHS
I was understandably nervous attending another pain clinic as previous experiences have left me rather down! Either pushed into group therapy or into trying medicines that totally ruined my regime that semi works and caused more side effects.
Anyway despite being an incredibly long walk from where I peaked (why is City hospital so hard to understand?!) I was the only person in the waiting room and after a wait saw one particular lovely doctor and what a super person. I honestly haven’t met many more knowledgable or keen to help doctors like her up here. She quickly realised all the errors in my care found th letter from spinal and ordered me a full MRI. She didnt change my meds at all and said to ring after MRI and return to see her. Only problem was I had the MRI weeks ago and was given an apt for end March back in Jan (saw her week before Xmas) but despite the radiologist coming to me on the scab table and saying see your referring dr ASAP they couldn’t get me in any sooner. It’s been a painful wait.
But the pain team themselves were ok of the phone as I appreciate the limits on the NHS and this doctor is worth waiting to see.
"The best hospital experience in Nottingham!"
