I'd been suffering with a crocked hip for a couple of years, after meeting an old friend I decided that it was time to see if I could get a bit of my life back. I was able to live fairly well but the pain was starting to make walking a chore, not a prospect I relished.
Mr Oakley performed my procedure assisted by Ravi, Richard and several other helpers whose faces I could not see and whose identities I don't know, I am eternally grateful to them all for the care and the meticulous attention they showed me at every level.
My stay on A Ward was quite an experience, Helen, Becky and the whole team coped with my outrageous demands and dreadful behaviour without a gripe, never once did any of the team fail to smile when handed a full 'un, a task which seemed to occur far too frequently....after the first few hours.
As I regained a little mobility Sam and Laura coaxed some movement out of my achy limbs and with a fresh X ray, good bloods and a following breeze I left the big 'W' after less than three days [think they were glad to see the back of me, who can blame 'em? ]
It's time now to be a patient patient, I'll try. [pic is of me in my work clothes on my way to an 8 second quarter mile at 165 mph]
