"Dreadful position of children’s waiting room"

About: Southend Hospital / Accident and emergency

Initially seen really quickly. Showed area where to wait for children my sons 6ft. We were told to stay there till called. Had to stand as no seats. Babies being sick and being changed in the toilet which is where we were. Smells disgusting. Can’t be hygienic. We were called ecg taken by nurse. She took reading off came back and said doctor wants to see us. So we waited and waited 4 hours infact still here. Bless him. My son has school. But now the time is 01.45. So he’s going to miss that tmw, how can he get up! Staff are nice except keep telling everyone doctors seeing them next !

The area for children isn’t fit for purpose. Anyone with germs well we’ve all got it now. Nurses using toilet doors left open. Feel like a doorman keep having to shut it after them. I know you’re a busy hospital. But what happened to children first !

One baby was so so sick and had diarrhoea poor soul
