My perception of this practice was dealt a blow when I tried to renew a prescription but was told it was subject to a review - tried to make an appointment but was told to ring in the morning at 8.00 am - this is a very hit and miss procedure as anyone can imagine and so I tried to make an appointment but was told it was only possible 8 days into the future -I told the receptionist my remaining medication would not last that long - once again I was asked to ring in in the morning - once again I replied that it was no guarantee of getting to see a doctor, I then commented on how inefficient and patient unfriendly this system was - the receptionist replied "Whatever!", the answer surprised and shocked me, - I gave the appropriate response saying that that sort of retort does not bode well for the professionalism of the practice.

Then I asked if I could go to a hub to which the answer was yes (why the receptionist didn't offer this before I do not know - I am now trying to get through to the hub

We thank you for your comments - some medications cannot be repeatedly prescribed without the patient having medical reviews.

Unfortunately, we have limited pre-bookable appointments and the waiting time for these appointments is often one to two weeks.

However, as advised to you, on the day appointments are released daily from 8.00am.

We are very surprised to hear your comments regarding our reception staff as they all offer a professional and friendly service and deal with medication requests on a daily basis.

However, we do apologise if your recent experience with the reception staff at our surgery has not met your expectations and please be assured that your comments have been discussed with our staff.
